The property located on 110- lush acres in Lenox, Massachusetts has been honored with the Wine Spectator Grand Award. The Estate's renown 7,000+ wine cellar attracts an elite guest, who share a passion for rare vintages. The property also has a partnership with Dom Perignon, featuring their exclusive vintages.

Job description

Primary Job Responsibilities:



Constantly and consistently exhibit Blantyre core values and standards of behavior including adherence to the Forbes 5-Star standards

Serves as the ambassador to the wine program internally and externally.

Services our guests with utmost professionalism and knowledge.

Maintains the wine cellar.

Assists in managing all resort related catered events.

Liaises with all associates and managers to provide wine service in all aspects to our guests.

The ability to interact with management and staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism is crucial to this role. Expert level verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important.



Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities:



Responsible for the organization, cleanliness, stocking

(rotating of inventory) of all wine cellars and store rooms

Receives invoices

Keeping out of stock list up to date

Provides all manner of wine service

Sets wine station for service

Weekly staff education and training

Monthly wine inventories


Establishes and maintains relationships with guests and co-workers

Qualifications:

Introductory level certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent association. Minimum one year experience in fine dining (Forbes four star or higher) service.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of wine knowledge. With at least an introductory level certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or comparable association.

The candidate will have least 2-3 year's experience in fine dining (Forbes four star or higher) service.

Information research, analysis, and evaluation skills.

Knowledge of POS systems.

Knowledge of wine regions from around the world.

Expert people skills and salesmanship

Communicate effectively as a liaison between FOH and BOH to ensure guest experience is as enjoyable and effortless as possible

Engage guests with a pleasant greeting and discreet name usage while performing duties

Assist in the effective and professional clearing of tables to prepare for the next course

Assist in all aspects of service including resetting of the dining room whenever possible

All Forbes behavioral standards as they relate to Fine Dining and All Day Dining

Able to describe with considerable detail all items on all menus

Safe food handling practices must be followed



Prior Hotel or Equivalent Guest Service Experience Preferred.

Food service experience preferred. Experience in a fine dining food & beverage environment

Must be U.S. based or have green card

Blantyre is looking for a Sommelier to run its 6,000+ wine cellar featuring some of the rarest vintages in the world. Applicants should have a level two certification.
An hourly salary with bonus based on wine sales
